In some cases, the analysis between different sets of medical images is
interesting to certain diagnostics. However the compared sets of images
may present very diverse characteristics, making harder to comprehend
the desired information. To prevent this kind of problem may hinder or
trouble a diagnostic, it was developed the ImgReg tool.
The ImgReg is a tool that uses the image processing technique known
as registration of images. This technique can align two different sets
of images through pairs of similar properties between both sets of
images. It is a valid technique and vastly used in several medical
informatics applications, like in the generation of mean images for
a certain set of images or the comparison of measures between images
of different characteristics.
The main characteristics of this registration tool are:
- focus is in anatomical information
- generic tool, not limited to a specific anatomical region
- can adjust images of any kind of supported modalities by CMS
This tool is being developed and will be a future plug-in for CMS.
